Tag Heuer Link Men's Automatic Watch WJF211A.BA0570

Review by Kaitlin Young

The TAG Heuer Link WJF211A.BA0570 is a watch that can be comfortably worn outside at a BBQ, swimming in the pool, or at the office’s annual formal event. The essence of this watch’s versatility lies in the simplicity of its streamlined design. This watch greets the eye with a brushed stainless steel bezel. The eye then travels along the link band until it reaches the double locking fold-over clasp. Unlike some TAG watches, which only allow large alterations, this band can be altered with fine adjustments to make sure the fit is nearly perfect. The black dial is relatively simple, but it creates a sophisticated look, and in direct sunlight the black dial becomes a handsome shade of blue due to the reflection off the anti-reflective sapphire crystal window. The dial also features silver hour and minute hands and silver geometric hour markers, both of which are luminous. Just above 6 o’clock, sits a small subdial that tracks the seconds, that adds a sophisticated flourish to this timepiece. Just below the subdial, a date window marks the 6 o’clock hour.

The finer features of the TAG Heuer Link WJF211A.BA0570 include:
• Quality Swiss automatic movement—the watch is charged on the movement of the wearer’s arm throughout the day.
• Scratch resistant sapphire crystal window—to protect from every day nicks and scrapes
• Water resistance to 660’—swim without worry!

The overall effect of these features is a watch that is wearable, professional, and formal. In short, the TAG Heuer Link WJF211A.BA0570 always looks smart. However, this is an expensive watch, and before you buy, it’s important to know that mechanical watches are generally prized for their artistry and engineering. This watch will not be as accurate as any run by quartz movement. It’s very possible that this timepiece may slow as much as a minute a week. If absolute accuracy is a quality you seek in a timepiece, this may not be the watch for you. The Tag Heuer website is a great place to get an idea of the array of quartz movement and automatic watches available. As well, this watch is manufactured with a smaller dial. It may look great on smaller wrists, but might be dwarfed on a larger arm. There are similar watches in the Link collection that will fit just about any body type. There are also several variations of this same watch that feature a different dial color, case size, or bezel design.
